Product Details

A complex aroma with mineral and spice notes, and a hint of apricot. This elegant and firm wine is an excellent choice to pair with high-quality Japanese cuisine. Grapes are harvested from five vineyards at different altitudes and orientations, each with clay soil containing a high percentage of active limestone, and fermented separately.

Appellation: Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva DOCG

Grape Varietal: 100% Verdicchio

Tasting Notes: This is a rich, full-bodied Verdicchio with layers of rich fruit, such as ripe red apple, and aromas of lilac. Light honey tones add complexity to the wine, and the aromas and flavors are creamy and lingering on the palate. This vintage has the potential for long-term aging and will be delicious until at least 2022.

Winemaking Method: This wine is Bucci's special cuvée, made only in good years and from grapes harvested from their oldest vineyards. Grapes are hand-picked, then fermented and aged in underground cellars. Stainless steel and old Slavonian oak barrels (50hl) are used for aging (minimum 18-24 months), which prevents the wine from becoming overly oaky and imparts a balanced flavor. Made using organic methods.

Pairing: Seafood dishes, oysters, Japanese cuisine, cheese, white meat dishes
