FERRARI: Italy's Pinnacle of Brilliance

Trento, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of northern Italy, nestled at the foot of the Alps.
Founded in 1902, Ferrari has earned global acclaim as the producer of "Italy's finest spumante."
Founder Giulio Ferrari studied viticulture across Europe, eventually arriving in the Champagne region of France. There, he discovered a surprising number of similarities between Champagne and his hometown of Trento in terms of climate and soil.
"I can make the world's best sparkling wine in this region too."
Convinced of this, Giulio returned home with Chardonnay saplings. He became a historic pioneer, the first in Italy to seriously attempt the Metodo Classico (Champagne method). He is also known as the first person to cultivate Chardonnay on a large scale in Italy.
Giulio Ferrari, the Father of Italian Spumante

Giulio Ferrari was quick to embark on Chardonnay cultivation, which was still rare in Italy at the time, and pursued the production of high-quality spumante in Trento's cool mountainous region.
His spumante quickly gained renown, achieving the remarkable feat of winning a gold medal at the Milan Exposition just four years after its founding in 1906. His foresight continues to be highly regarded worldwide, even more than a century later.
Ferrari's spumante transcends the mere category of "Italian sparkling wine," charming wine lovers and gourmets around the world as an equal to Grand Maison Champagne.
Enduring Philosophy and the Lunelli Family
Giulio Ferrari, known as the "Father of Italian Spumante," had no direct heirs. From numerous candidates, he entrusted his vision to Bruno Lunelli, a long-time friend in whom he had deep trust.
The current owners, the Lunelli family, continue to uphold the founder's philosophy, maintaining the spumante production that seeks perfect balance and beautiful harmony.
