Pigato is a symbolic wine of the Riviera region.
The Pigato vineyards are located at an altitude of 200-300m, on alkaline clay-chalk soils rich in calcium. The grapes, harvested in September from 10-year-old vines, are fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged on their lees for a minimum of 5 months.
Annual production is 10,000 bottles.
The name "Pigato" comes from "Piche (macchia)," meaning "spot."
