Product Details

This rare, traditional dessert wine has been produced in Friuli since ancient times, and its origins remain a mystery. Semi-dried grapes are fermented in French oak barriques and then aged on their lees for 18 months. It is truly a noble wine with a good balance of sugar and acidity, offering a rich, sweet, and smooth flavor.

Classification: Colli Orientali del Friuli Picolit DOCG

Grape Variety: Picolit 100%

Tasting Comment: The elegant and complex aroma offers notes of candied citrus peel, apricot, peach, fig, orange blossom, and acacia flower. There are also subtle spicy undertones. It is a noble wine with a good balance of sugar and acidity, and a rich, sweet, and smooth flavor.

Winemaking Method: The dried grapes are carefully destemmed, and after soft pressing, the must is clarified by decantation. The must undergoes alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation in small French oak barrels under temperature control, followed by 18 months of aging. Bottling took place in April 2009. The bottled wine is stored in a temperature-controlled cellar for at least 12 months before shipment.

Pairing: With strong cheeses, foie gras, biscotti, and fruit desserts.
