This wine is made using the appassimento method. It has a mellow taste and a long, fruity finish.

Grape Variety: Refosco 100%

Tasting Notes: The attractive aroma from the semi-dried grapes enhances the concentrated fruit flavor. Herbal notes like sage, with sweet vanilla aromas. A rich taste of cherry and fruit, this wine has an excellent balance of acidity and soft tannins.

Winemaking Method: The name of the product comes from "grano" (grape berry) and "arella" (the traditional rack used to dry grapes). This wine is made by applying Masi's得意 (specialty) appassimento technique of partially drying grapes to grapes harvested in Friuli. Grapes harvested later than usual are dried on wooden racks for 50 days. After this, the grapes are lightly pressed, cultured yeast is added, and fermentation takes place under temperature control for 40 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. It is then aged for 24 months in 600L Allier and Slavonian oak barrels. Bottle aging for 4 months.
