Product Details

Gattinara is a traditional wine made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in three different vineyards. It is a charming red wine with a garnet-tinged ruby color, aromas reminiscent of spices, ripe berries, and cherries, and a well-balanced flavor with mellow tannins. This excellent wine can be enjoyed even after 15 to 20 years.

Appellation: Gattinara DOCG

Grape Variety: 100% Nebbiolo

Tasting Notes: Notes of clove, vanilla, woody nuances from the barrel, and licorice can be detected. These elements are derived from the barriques during the aging period. The taste offers a freshness and pleasant acidity typical of the 2014 vintage, well-endowed tannins, and a gentle saltiness that lingers in the long finish. It possesses a complexity of aroma and flavor while maintaining an elegant and refined balance.

Winemaking Process: Gattinara is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in limestone soil. After 30 months of aging in Slovenian oak barrels, 25% is aged for an additional 10 months in French barriques, totaling 40 months of aging. Then, after 8 months of bottle aging, a truly rich red wine is born.

Pairing: Red meat dishes, including game, and aged cheeses
