Product Details

Gattinara is a traditional wine made from Nebbiolo grapes from three different vineyards. It is a charming red wine with a garnet-red color, aromas of spices, ripe berries and cherries, mellow tannins, and a balanced flavor. This exquisite wine can be enjoyed even after 15 to 20 years.

Classification: Gattinara DOCG

Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo

Tasting notes: Balsamic and mineral notes enhance the aromas of ripe red fruits and confiture. This is followed by hints of chocolate, pepper, coffee, tobacco, and dried flowers. It has a firm structure but a very elegant taste. The gentle, enveloping tannins linger on.

Winemaking method: Gattinara is made from Nebbiolo grown in limestone soil. After aging for 30 months in Slovenian oak barrels, 25% is aged for 10 months in French barriques, for a total of 40 months of aging. Then, after 8 months of bottle aging, this rich red wine is born.

Pairing: Red meat dishes including game, aged cheeses
