Product Details

On the hills of Lake Garda, known as "Costasera", lie the finest vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica region, basking in the evening sun. The grapes harvested from these vineyards, which benefit from long hours of sunshine and sunlight reflected from the lake, thrive in the warm climate and produce high-quality Amarone.

Costasera, with its rich aroma of ripe fruit and firm structure, is said to be capable of long-term aging for 35 years.

Rating: Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG (from 2010)

Varieties: Corvina 70%, Rondinella 25%, Molinara 5%

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby color with rich aromas of ripe plums and cherries. The palate is full-bodied, with spicy nuances of cinnamon and vanilla, harmoniously balanced with smooth tannins. The intense fruit flavor and solid structure provide a long finish, resulting in an elegant wine.

Production Method: Grapes harvested from late September to early October are dried for one month in the shade on bamboo racks in a special drying room with NASA (Natural Airflow System for Appassimento). Only Corvina grapes develop botrytis. After 45 days of natural low-temperature fermentation (14°C) in large Slavonian oak barrels or stainless steel tanks, the wine is transferred to 30-40 hl barrels, and alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation continue for another 35 days using strong alcohol yeast. 80% of the wine is aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels (40-80 hl), and 20% in small Allier and Slavonian oak barrels (600L, 40% new, 30% second-use, 30% third-use). Minimum barrel aging is 4 months.
