Product Details
A deep garnet hue. The elegant aroma of ripe fruit is very rich, with sweet notes of raisins, walnuts, and almonds. Supported by a firm structure, a rich, concentrated flavor of fruit and sweet spices fills the mouth, with a warm and soft taste typical of Amarone. As it ages, its complexity and elegance become more pronounced. Can be aged for 40 years.
Classification: Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG
Grape varieties: Corvina 70%, Rondinella 25%, Molinara 5%
Tasting notes: An elegant and intense Amarone born from the high-altitude single vineyard of Campolongo di Torbe. Concentrated fruit aromas of dried cherries, prunes, and blackberries are layered with nuances of cocoa, bitter orange, spices, and a hint of herbs, creating a complex and deep bouquet. On the palate, firm acidity and structured tannins are impressive, and while there's a sense of ripeness characteristic of the 2009 vintage, a crisp outline derived from the cool vineyard can also be felt. The long finish leaves a mineral sensation and a hint of bitterness, making this a wine that achieves a high level of balance between the power and elegance of Amarone.
Winemaking: Fermentation with yeast for 40 days. Aged for 3.5 years in 20hl Slavonian oak barrels. A deep, matte dark red with bright, still youthful edges. Wild berries with hints of eucalyptus are powerfully aromatic. Firm tannins are lively on the palate with flavors of raisins and spirit-soaked cherries. This wine offers a long finish with notes of dried figs and vanilla, and a moderate alcohol content.
Pairing: Ideal to enjoy on its own as a digestif. Also pairs well with red meat dishes, game dishes such as quail, and aged cheeses like Parmigiano and Pecorino.
