This powerful Barolo, with its deep garnet color, boasts a long-lasting ethereal bouquet, and is a dry, harmonious, velvety, and full-bodied wine perfect for long-term aging.
Classification: Barolo DOCG
Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Tasting Notes: Aged for 1 year in cement tanks, followed by 5 years in large barrels, and then bottled in April 1988. It has a strong garnet color with an orange hue. The complex aroma features spices and intense wood, with notes of pine resin, fruit, tobacco, and hints of spice and smoke. The taste is full-bodied, vibrant, and pleasantly alcoholic.
Winemaking Method: Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature (23-25°C) for approximately two weeks. After maceration, the wine is racked three times. It is then aged for a minimum of three years in large Slavonian oak barrels (varying in size and age, but no new barrels are used). Light fining and filtration are performed, followed by bottling. Bottle aging then continues for a minimum of two years.
Pairing: Roasted or grilled red meat dishes, game dishes
