Tasting: Aged for 1 year in tanks, then 3 years in barrels, and bottled in mid-September 1971. Garnet-red brick color. Strong woody aroma, dry plum, caramel, coffee, heavy leather, and burnt sugar. Soft, full-bodied with pleasant acidity. Vanilla and licorice notes on the finish. A balanced and exceptional vintage.
