Owner Andrea Farinetti refers to "Derthona" as "the Barolo of white wines."
The Timorasso grape, depending on the terroir and winemaking style, can produce wines capable of long-term aging. When young, it is a powerful, full-bodied and very drinkable wine. Extended bottle aging brings forth complexity, balance, latent power, and finesse. Aging highlights the aromatic and mineral characteristics typical of this varietal.
Derthona begins to express intriguing characteristics after at least five years of bottle aging, making the enjoyment of this great wine's evolving taste over the years one of its true delights.
