In 1716, Grand Duke Cosimo III of Tuscany drew boundaries that are considered the first example of a designation of origin system in the world, and "Pomino" was one of the four prestigious wine-growing regions he designated. Pomino is a renowned white wine region, sometimes called a "hidden treasure" of Tuscany, a region famous for producing many great red wines. This is a very elegant and mellow wine, easy to drink with a refreshing impression derived from its high altitude, and has been crafted by female winemakers since the founder, Ms. Leonia.

Classification: Pomino Bianco DOC

Grape Varietals: Chardonnay, primarily Pinot Bianco

Tasting Notes: Clear and brilliant, vibrant and lively lemon yellow. Beautiful floral aromas are accompanied by pear and peach, and fruity notes with nuances of grapefruit and bergamot blend harmoniously. On the palate, freshness and mellowness unite, expanding into fruity aromas and a hint of toast. The pleasant and complex aromas and rich flavors, characteristic of white wine, convey the greatness of this wine, which has been acclaimed for centuries.

Winemaking Method: Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with 25% using French oak barriques. Aging is for 4 months in stainless steel tanks, followed by 1 month of bottle aging.

Pairing: As an aperitif, or with vegetable appetizers, seafood such as salmon, or Japanese cuisine.
