Aglianico is said to be a variety best suited to the area around 41 degrees north latitude in Campania, where volcanic zones are concentrated. The single vineyard Piano di Montevergine Taurasi is located on volcanic soil at an altitude of 450m. Due to good ventilation and large temperature differences between day and night, the grapes mature slowly. In particular, Aglianico grown here develops complex balsamic aromas and a refined, elegant taste, resulting in a great wine with long aging potential.

Classification: Taurasi Riserva DOCG

Grape variety: 100% Aglianico

Tasting: Deep ruby color, complex aromas of blackberry, plum, sour cherry, mint, and toasted bread. Elegant tannins, ripe sweet and sour black cherry, delicate licorice flavor, balanced and smooth, rounded texture, with a pleasant and long finish.

Winemaking method: Grapes are hand-harvested in small crates in late October, with bunch selection. After destemming and crushing, long maceration is carried out at a controlled temperature of 25-26°C. The wine is then aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barriques, followed by another 12 months of bottle aging before release.

Pairing: Grilled lamb, well-aged cheeses, etc.
