On the hills near Lake Garda, known as "Costasera," there are some of the best vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica region. From grapes harvested in these vineyards, which benefit from long hours of sunshine and reflected sunlight from the lake, resulting in a consistently warm climate, high-quality Amarone is produced.

Costasera, with its rich aroma of ripe fruit and robust structure, is said to be capable of long-term aging for up to 35 years.

Classification: Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG (from 2010)

Varieties: Corvina 70%, Rondinella 25%, Molinara 5%

Tasting notes: Deep ruby color with rich aromas of ripe plum and cherry. Full-bodied on the palate, with spicy nuances of cinnamon and vanilla, harmonizing exquisitely with smooth tannins. The rich fruitiness and firm structure provide a long finish, culminating in an elegant experience.

Production method: Grapes harvested from late September to early October are dried for one month on bamboo racks in special drying sheds equipped with NASA (Natural Drying Augmentation System). Botrytis cinerea only develops on the Corvina variety. After 45 days of natural low-temperature fermentation (14°C) in large Slavonian oak barrels or stainless steel tanks, the wine is transferred to 30-40 hl barrels where alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation continue for another 35 days using alcohol-tolerant yeast. 80% of the wine is aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels (40-80hl), and 20% in small Allier and Slavonian oak barrels (600L, 40% new, 30% 2-year-old, 30% 3-year-old). A minimum of 4 months of barrel aging.
