Aglianico is said to be best suited to the area around 41 degrees north latitude in Campania, where volcanic zones are concentrated. The single vineyard, Piano di Montevergine Taurasi, is located at an altitude of 450m on volcanic soil. The grapes mature slowly due to the good ventilation and the large temperature difference between day and night.

Classification: Taurasi Riserva DOCG

Grape variety: Aglianico 100%

Tasting notes: Deep ruby color. Rich aromas of ripe dark cherry, plum, and blackberry intertwined with nuances of tobacco and spice. The firm tannins and well-balanced acidity that spread in the mouth enhance the complex, full-bodied flavor, creating a vintage with a long-lasting finish.

Winemaking method: Grapes are hand-picked in small crates, with selection of each bunch, in late October. After destemming and crushing, a long maceration takes place at a controlled temperature of 25-26°C. The wine is then aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barriques, followed by another 12 months of bottle aging before release.

Pairing: Grilled lamb, well-aged cheese, etc.
