Aglianico is said to thrive in the Campanian region, particularly around the 41st parallel north, where volcanic areas are concentrated. The single vineyard Piano di Montevergine Taurasi is located on volcanic soil at an altitude of 450m. The grapes mature slowly due to the significant temperature difference between day and night and good ventilation.

Classification: Taurasi Riserva DOCG

Grape variety: 100% Aglianico

Tasting Notes: Deep, brilliant ruby color. Aromas of blackberry, plum, and sour cherry harmonize with nuances of mint, licorice, and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is full of fruit, with silky tannins and excellent balance with the acidity. It has a rounded texture and a long, pleasant finish, elegantly expressing the power and elegance of Piano di Montevergine.

Winemaking: Grapes are hand-harvested in small crates in late October, with selection made bunch by bunch. After destemming and crushing, long maceration takes place at a controlled temperature of 25-26°C. The wine is then aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barriques, followed by 12 months of bottle aging before release.

Pairing: Grilled lamb or well-aged cheeses.
