Controdanza, meaning "country dance," is a traditional folk dance from the region where partners elegantly move together and sometimes in opposition. This wine, a blend of Nero d'Avola grown in the white soil of Noto and a small amount of Merlot, offers a captivating and unconventional combination with a beautiful balance of harmony and contrast.

Grape Varieties: Nero d'Avola 85%, Merlot 15%
Tasting Notes: The typical aromas of mulberries and plums from Noto's Nero d'Avola are harmoniously balanced with notes of bay leaf and Mediterranean herbs. The addition of Merlot, grown in the same limestone soil, enlivens the palate. This wine impresses with its harmonious acidity and soft tannins.
Production Method: 14 days of maceration, followed by fermentation at 25°C, then malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged for 10 months in 2nd and 3rd year French oak barrels.
Food Pairing: A very approachable and food-friendly red wine.
Pairs well with all kinds of meat dishes, aged cheeses, salami, sweet and sour dishes, and even artichokes.
